Our Mission

Maritime software is a crowded market of voyage systems, ECDIS, AIS platforms, planned-maintenance suites, and port tools — and the useful comparisons are scattered across vendor sites. MaritimeSoftware exists so operators, technical managers, charterers, and developers can see what a product actually does, who it is for, and what else sits next to it, without sitting through a demo first.

Open Source, Where It Exists

Commercial platforms dominate ship management and chartering. Open source is strongest on the bridge and in marine data: chart plotters, NMEA and AIS libraries, and onboard servers. For those projects we track GitHub stars and recent commits so you can see whether a tool is still maintained. Proprietary products are listed on the same terms — what they do, who they are for, and what they sit next to — not as ads.
